Health and Safety

McLeod Cranes is serious about Health and Safety. We work hard to ensure all our work is done in a safe and efficient manner eliminating, isolating or minimising all hazards we encounter.

All crane operators are BESS registered "Bridge Engineering Self Supervision" and working towards or have there NZQA in Mobile Crane Operation. McLeod Cranes also employees a lift engineer and an NZQA instructor in mobile crane operation.

Policy

McLeod Cranes Ltd is committed to working in partnership with our customers to ensure the protection of employees, property, environment and other people, including the general public, from accidental injury or damage by the work we perform.

In meeting this commitment McLeod Cranes Ltd will comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice, and take all practical steps to ensure that:

  • There is safety and quality in all aspects of our business.
  • Our employees, property, environment and other people, including the general public are protected from accidental injury or damage by the work we perform.
  • We provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment, safe systems and methods of work.
  • We clearly define everyone's responsibility for health and safety matters.
  • All activities are carried out safely and without causing harm to follow workers, contractors, customers and the general public.
  • We encourage McLeod Cranes Ltd employees to participate and provide feedback on all health and safety matters.
  • We provide all employees with information, training and supervision that they need to work safety and efficiently to develop safety awareness among our employees.
  • We accurately report and record workplace accidents and incidents and investigate them. All employees are encouraged to participate in accident investigation.
  • We support the safe and early return to work of injured employees.

This policy is communicated to all employees and is available to the public. All employees are responsible for implementing this policy. We are committed to ensuring all employees have an understanding of health and safety relative to their positions.

We are committed to continuously strive for improvement and it is McLeod Cranes Ltd's goal to achieve excellence in Health and Safety.

This policy is reviewed annually and employees are made aware of any changes.
